Andrew J. Hall
Andrew Hall was trained as an architect at Newcastle University and University College London. He has designed numerous bespoke cladding systems, initially as a senior architect with Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners and subsequently as a façade designer with Arup Façade Engineering. As a Board director and leader of Ove Arup & Partners' Global Façade engineering teams, Hall is responsible for coordinating the activities of the façade engineering groups in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Johannesburg, which combine designers with both consultancy and contracting backgrounds.
From his experience in design of bespoke glazing systems, Hall has led his team to explore the use of glass as structure, skin and sculpture. His design consultancy has now expanded and embraces pure materials consultancy and product design for projects both within and outside the construction industry. He has recently participated in the design of various projects worldwide, including headquarters buildings for Glaxo Wellcome and AIG in London; the Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires with Gastón Atelman, Martín Fourcade and Alfredo Tapia of AFT Arquitectos; and Yapi Kredi Bank in Istanbul.
